Foundation Module Courses
Primer
to Software Development
Course
Objectives
This course serves the objective of introducing students to
different realms of information technology. After a brief introduction
to mental models encountered in the IT Domain, the mechanism
of human thinking is illustratedand topics such as brain dominance,
dichotomy and creativity are explained. The student is then
exposed to elements of Transactional Analysis theory of human
relations. The topic is plausible and serves as a lot of fun
for students. Students learn about emotional intelligence and
intricacies of mind working and mind sculpture. After this introduction,
students learn the power of stories and storytelling by learning
a section on scenario planning. A brief introduction to metaphors
and their utilization is rudimentary. Later on, students are
exposed to fundamentals of software engineering and then they
are introduced to principles of systems thinking and system
dynamics.
